How to program central door locking fob with Op-com

Here is the step-by-step instruction on how to program central door locking remote fob with Op-com diagnostic interface.

Vehicle model example:
2003 Astra-G

Tool:
Op-com CAN OBD diagnostic interface (cheap €17 in eobd2.fr)
A laptop running Windows XP mode

NOTE:
If it does not program then it’s the wrong fob.

1)    Insert CD software into the laptop and install op-com software, here is the software installation video instruction.

2) Come into the main function menu after succeed install software. Select “Diagnostic” in the function list.

3) Select your vehicle year, here “2003”

4) Select vehicle model, here “Asfra-G”

5) The next program will display the ECU module that Op-com accessed. Select “Body”

6) If you have an alarm, then go to the “Anti Theft Warming”. If you don’t, then select “Central Door Lock”.

7) Come to “Measuring blocks”, the system will display the remote that was used and the previous one.

8) Select “Programming”, if necessary, erase all remote keys.

9) Select “Program Remote Key” and click the button to add the key you want to remote.

10) When first remote generated, you can continue to program another remote. The result can be displayed on “Measuring blocks”. No security code needed when programming the remote.

NOTE: If the device still not working, the OBD2 port does not meet the 12 pin diagnostic socket.

FVDI 2015 installation Step by Step

Generally, FVDI users follow the next steps to install FVDI 2015.

Take FVDI for Mercedes Benz installation for example.

Step 1: Download ” FVDI V2015_6.2″ “CDM20814” “FWDownloader” and unzip them

Step 2: Open FVDI V2015_6.2, setup “Adobe Reader 9”

Step 3: In the folder “FVDI V2015_6.2”, click “Setup” to complete Abrites Commander Software setup Wizard.

Step 4: After completing the Abrites Commander Software setup Wizard, restart the computer.

When ready to get authorization for FVDI, operate by following the next steps:

1). Connect the Softdog to FVDI. Do not connect Softdog to the computer, otherwise the Softdog green light or red light will on, and result in authorization fail.
2). Use USB cable to connect FVDI and the computer, but do not connect FVDI to the car. Wait until FVDI green light on and Softdog red light on, you succeed getting authorization. If FVDI red light on or Softdog green light on, repeat the above steps.

After get authorization for FVDI, follow the next steps to connect.
1). Connect the Softdog to FVDI (Note: do not connect Softdog to the computer).
2). Use USB cable to connect FVDI and the computer. Wait until FVDI green light on and Softdog red light on, connect Softdog USB cable to the computer. During the procedure, the Softdog red light keeps on (Note: do not connect FVDI to the car)
3). Till the above 2 steps work well, connect FVDI to the car.

Step 6: Connect FVDI to the computer, and computer found new hardware.

Step 7: Browse folder “CDM20814” to setup driver into it.

Step 8: Finish the software for USB Serial Converter

Step 9: another window pops up “Found new hardware”, repeat the last steps and finish the software for USB Serial Port.

Step 10: Open Device Manage-USB Serial Port(COM4) – right click “Properies” – Driver- the Driver version must be 2.8.14.0.
Then find out “USB Serial Converter”, right click “properties” – Driver-the Driver version must be 2.8.14.0.

Step 11: Open “FWDownloader” and check if it is available with newest version.

Step 12: Open “Abrites Quick Start”, Click Logo “Mercedes Benz” , one window pops up saying ” Connecting to server…..OK”, which means the computer is network connected. Click “Ok”, then it displays “Days remain: 361” which means FVDI is activated for 361 days, click “Close”.
Note: after FVDI is activated by FLYOBD Company, it is okay to use it without network connection. If the network disconnect, you get message “Connecting to server……Failed”, it is normal, ignore it. Until the authorized days expire, connect the network to active again.

What V2.06 KESS and V2.06 K-TAG can do

What the different of these two ECU programmer and how can they work together?
KESS V2 and K-TAG share the same K-suite software which is developed by Alientech. KESS V2 OBD master kit can be worked together with some other programmers, the most welcomed is K-TAG.
V2.06 KESS and V2.06 K-TAG share some differences. KESS V2 supports OBD which means it can work via OBD diagnostic port but K-TAG cannot. KESS V2 supports some EDC17 programming, but K-TAG cannot. In short, KESS V2 is for OBD and K-TAG is for BDM/JTAG/BOOT.
Prompt:
If KESS V2 fails to program EDC17 for some models, please try DS17 Infineon Tricore boot reader.
Kess V2 comes with all the cable for cars and bikes but also has the trucks and boats protocol activated as well. It has no token limitation.
Ktag master version has the tricore and BDM MPC5x protocols enabled with all the appropriate cables. It comes with 500 tokens, buy new CPU chip to replace old one and add another 500 tokens. K-TAG also contains the 14AM00TBAS and 14AM00TB02 adaptors to enable you to BDM Ford Focus RS/ST as well as many other vehicles. The New Data Cable 144300T108 unused is also included. This is needed for the new ECU ID features which allow you to unlock some ECUs via the OBD without having to remove them from the vehicle.
KESSv2-and-K-TAG
Using K-Suite, you can manage KESSv2 and K-TAG in the same software. Complete your equipment with K-TAG to work directly on the engine control units while on the bench. KTAG coupled with KESS V2 OBD2 Manager Tuning Kit contribute to equivalent software applications, then again KESS V2 boasts OBD celebration (means KESS V2 OBD2 Manager Tuning Kit package ECU via OBD the facts cable) as KTAG will not obtain. These two will allow you to cover near enough all the cars out there especially VAG and BMW EDC17 ECUs with the Tricore protocols.
Experienced technicians would apply Alientech software ECM Titanium to work with KESS V2 and K-TAG. The ECM Titanium allows you to do accurately modify the file stored inside the engine control unit (ECU) memory (EPROM) without any difficulty for  Diesel and Petrol, naturally-aspirated or turbo-charged, the software lets you  rapidly adjust the maps values (injection, spark-advance, pressure, TURBO etc) and the limiters saved inside EPROM files.
KESSv2, K-TAG and ECM Titanium software are the right gear to start your work.

How to solve TCSCDP DS150 Unknown diagnostic id error

I bought a TCSCDP DS150 Bluetooth pro scan tool from EOBD2.fr in late November and received it last Thursday. The tool looks neat and works fine. But when I connected it to my 05 BMW X3 via Bluetooth, something seemed wrong. I got a message “Unknown diagnostic id. Generic protocol with standard information will be used”. I disassemble the CDP 150 and but had no idea where to start. Then I sent the seller an email and it provided me a solution that finally got the issue fixed.

According to the seller, there are some gadgets I should check. The first are the marked parts on the PCB showed in the following picture.

Second are the FTDI chips marked in below picture.

Third is the 513A 0523 IC (integrated circuit) which works as a bridge to connect TCSCDP DS150 Bluetooth and BMW vehicles.

Finally, the diode GEX28A marked in red circle.

I checked all the parts and found out that the diode GEX28A was a little bit loose. I removed it and soldered it back. Then I tried the Bluetooth connection again. It would work! If your CDP DS150 has the same issue, like mine, a little soldering may fix it. If you do not know how to do the soldering, you had better get a professional.

FGTech 2 “Can not find driver”,how to do?

Problem:
When install FGTech 2, the FTReadWrite replied “Can’t find device” error message. When trying to uninstall the driver, the window screen warmed it is not FGTECH device, but USB-to-Serial device. If install the driver, fgtech software did not run and FTReadWrite or MProg didn’t find the ftdi chip. Try to install the driver on both win 7 and win xp computer over and over, but in vain.
Solution:
1) Download and install the Virtual Com Port drivers from FTDI website:

2) Then connect the FGTech to computer via USB port which had no device programmed and 1 blank device when the MProg Utility it shows.
NOTE: If you had backup and reprogram with the ept file. The system will not recognize the FGTECH Galletto 2 and will not reprogram the firmware bin file. The Virtual Com Port Drivers would overlay the fgtech ECU programmer. Then you have to again download the related driver in FTDI website.

3) After install the right drivers, FTReadWrite programmed the backup firmware file, run FGTech software by referring to the user manual on EOBD2 webpage.
