An airbag is significant control unit of the vehicle engine. Difference vehicles have different airbag crash sensors, usually the number is one to three. The airbag/SRS crash sensor is located in the center console behind the ash tray and in front of the gear shift lever.
Why we have to clear the airbag crash? Airbag/SRS module is designed to work only once. So vehicle owners have to clear the existing crash data in order to get it used again. If your air bag has been destroyed, you have to get it replaced and with new one. But if you can get the old airbag crash data cleared, you do not need to replace a new one. In another words, it saves you a lot of money.
Many people and even experienced technician believe that any diagnostic tool will not clear crash data from airbag control unit. They confirm that diagnostic tools can only clear simple airbag fault codes from SRS ECU but can not erase crash code. They had to pay another extra $25 for an airbag ECU crash remover.
But it is not 100% true because Carprog can not it. Carrog V6.8 ECU chip tuning can not do clear airbag crash data of all vehicles, but it does work within the vehicle it covers, including: VAG (Audi, VW, Skoda, Seat), BMW, Mercedes Benz, Ford, GM, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Saab, Subaru, Toyota, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Porsche, Suzuki, Volvo and Daewoo.
